01Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Slate, you confirm that you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.
02Description of service
Slate is a browser extension designed to help you save, organise, and rediscover information from the web.
Unless stated otherwise, Slate is provided free of charge.
03Browser platform terms
Your use of Slate must comply with the terms and policies of the browser platform or extension marketplace through which you install it, including the Google Chrome Web Store where applicable.
This agreement is between you and Mikuláš Vojíř ("developer", "we", "us"), not Google.
04Local-first operation
Slate is designed to operate locally by default. Your saved data primarily lives in your browser storage on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of any important data. Browser storage may be cleared, corrupted, or removed outside our control.
05Optional online features
Some current or future features may require an internet connection or optional third-party services.
Future features may include optional sync providers, cloud storage, AI integrations, or shared functionality.
These features will always be optional and explicitly enabled by you.
06Third-party services
If you choose to connect third-party services such as cloud providers or AI tools, you acknowledge that your data may be transmitted to those providers at your request.
The handling of your data by those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Slate does not control and is not responsible for how third-party providers process, store, or use data you voluntarily share with them.
07Ownership of content
All data and content you save using Slate remains your property.
We do not claim ownership of your saves, notes, links, or collections.
08Acceptable use
You agree to use Slate only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not harm the extension, its infrastructure, or other users.
You may not misuse the extension for malicious activity, abuse browser APIs, or attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the service.
09Availability
Slate is provided on an "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with all browsers, or error-free operation.
10AI features
If AI-powered features are introduced in the future, they may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected results.
AI-generated output is provided for convenience only and should not be relied upon as factual, legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
11Disclaimer of warranties
Slate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
12Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or data-loss damages arising from your use of Slate.
We are not responsible for lost saves, browser storage failures, extension conflicts, third-party outages, or issues caused by external integrations.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Slate, if any.
13Termination
You may stop using Slate at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing its local data.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the extension at our discretion.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of Slate after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
15Age requirements
Slate is not intended for users under 13, or under 16 in the European Union where applicable.
16Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.
Any disputes are subject to the courts of Prague, Czech Republic.
